Lew Rockwell`s New Website

Those of you who have been students at our Supply-Side University know that I am an admirer of the late, great Austrian economist, Ludwig von Mises. Quite a few regular visitors to this website, to be sure, were directed here by the Mises website http://www.mises.org. This happened once Lew Rockwell, the founder and president of the Mises Institute in Auburn, Ala., realized we are following parallel tracks as we view the unfolding global political economy. Now he has begun a new, personalized website that comes to me every day with selected readings that he has dug out of the world press, which I might not otherwise come across. Under his website banner, we find the subhead: "The anti-state, anti-war, pro-market news site." Yesterday, for example, he plucked a delicious piece from Canada's National Post, a reprint of a London Spectator article about how nobody has been able to find the tens of thousands of dead Kosovars who were supposedly slaughtered by those fascist Serbs. Mass graves which we were told by the U.S. government were likely to produce several hundred bodies actually yielded a half dozen or so. Far more people died because of the U.S. bombing of Yugoslavia, it now turns out, than were killed by the Serbs. You will not read these accounts in our major newspapers, which do their best to cover up the blunders of our Political Establishment. Take a look for yourself and I think you will appreciate getting a daily feed from Lew.

Lew Rockwell, founder and president of the Mises Institute in Auburn, Ala., and vice president of the Center for Libertarian Studies in Burlingame, Cal., is editor of the Rothbard-Rockwell Report, a columnist for WorldNetDaily, and an opponent of the central state, its wars and its domestic socialism. He has been senior editor of Arlington House, Publishers, and the Conservative Book Club; editor of a journal of economic medicine; a college administrator; and chief of staff to Congressman Ron Paul. He has written for such publications as the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Times, National Review, and Chronicles, and is the editor of six books, most recently "The Irrepressible Rothbard." For more on Rockwell, see his interview in Spintech Magazine. http://www.spintechmag.com/9905/bd0599.htm

LewRockwell.com highlights the news and commentary that he finds important, or simply interesting, for classical liberals, anarcho-capitalists, and conservative libertarians. It is therefore unapologetically idiosyncratic. However, he welcomes your comments and suggestions, especially as to articles that should be carried on the page.
